What are Competitive Exhibits?
Simply stated, Competitive Exhibits are organized contests where participants submit their best work—such as baked goods, crafts, livestock, or crops—for judging to compete for awards, ribbons, or prizes. Each category follows specific guidelines to ensure entries are judged fairly and with expertise. From a perfectly grown pepper to a completed puzzle, a treasured antique, or a stunning photograph, every exhibit highlights a unique story of dedication, creativity, and skill.
What are Premiums?
Premiums are the awards given to the winners of competitive exhibit categories. They can be cash prizes, ribbons, trophies, or other recognitions that highlight your accomplishment. For many participants, premiums are a badge of pride that reflects the dedication and skill poured into their entry. Plus, who doesn’t love a little reward for their hard work?
How It Works
- Explore the Categories: Check out the fair’s Premium Book to find a category that suits your interest or skills. There are options for every age, experience level, and area of expertise.
- Prepare Your Entry: Follow the rules and guidelines for your chosen category. Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you’re unsure—we’re here to help!
- Enter by the Deadline: Submit your entry form online or in person by the specified date. Entries are usually accepted in the weeks leading up to the fair.
- Enjoy the Fair: Once your entry is displayed, come to the fair to see it alongside others, enjoy the exhibits, and join in the fun.
